No decline expected in Russian tourists visiting Greece, says Russian ambassador

Last year, over 850,000 Russian tourists visited Greece

MOSCOW, December 3./TASS/. More than 850,000 Russian tourists visited Greece last year and their numbers are not expected to shirk this year, Russian Ambassador to Greece Andrey Maslov said in an interview with TASS on Monday.

Moscow and Athens are actively developing cooperation in the tourism sector, the ambassador said. "Within the framework of the cross-year of tourism, numerous events have been held that have strengthened tourism ties between the regions and business communities of our countries," the diplomat pointed out. "A total of 856,000 Russian tourists visited Greece last year. We go on a premise that the figure will be approximately the same this year," he added.

Maslov also expressed hope that the number of Greek tourists visiting Russia will keep growing.
