Russian Helicopters receives requests to supply over 70 aircraft to Asia Pacific
MOSCOW, December 3. /TASS/. The Russian Helicopters company (part of the Rostec State Corporation) has received requests to supply more than 70 helicopters to Asian-Pacific countries, worth over $500 mln, the company’s press service said in a statement on Monday.
The helicopter producer recently went on a demonstration tour of Southeast Asian countries, wrapping it up with a presentation in the Malaysian capital of Kuala Lumpur on December 3.
"More than half a billion dollars worth of requests to supply over 70 Russian helicopters to Asian-Pacific countries within the next three years, which were received during the one-month demonstration tour, confirm the competitiveness of Russian civilian helicopters abroad. It is also the logical result of the government’s comprehensive measures aimed at supporting Russian exports on the global market," Russian Minister of Industry and Trade Denis Manturov said, as cited in the statement.
The company’s press service elaborated that the requests received concern the Mil-171A2 and Ansat civilian helicopters.
"In China alone, a contract has been signed for the supply of 20 Ansat helicopters to the country’s Disaster Medicine Association. Another 50 helicopters are planned to be supplied to Vietnam, Cambodia, Thailand and Malaysia," Russian Helicopters Director General Andrei Boginsky said.
According to him, the demand for civilian helicopters in Southeast Asian countries may reach 420 aircraft in the next ten years, so the Russian company expects to get a significant share of the market.
