Rusnano discusses with a Danish company special wind power units for the Arctic

ST. PETERSBURG, November 28. /TASS/. Rusnano discusses with a Danish company special wind power units for the Arctic, Rusnano’s CEO Anatoly Chubais said at an international innovation forum on Wednesday.

"Here in Russia we build plants [to produce equipment for wind power units]. <…> Recently, we have discussed with Vestas’ president the Arctic version of a wind farm," he said. "This is in which direction we have been moving, as big plants to produce the equipment are at the final stage, so the task now is <…> - the Arctic version. This is where we are going, and I believe, it is absolutely possible."

According to Chubais, Russia has a huge wind potential, and in the country’s northern regions it is of "especially high levels." He also stressed that Vestas is among the world’s leaders in equipment for wind farms.
