Sanctions complicate Vietnam’s participation in joint energy projects — deputy PM
The anti-Russian sanctions hamper Vietnam’s participation in joint energy projects, Vietnamese Deputy Prime Minister says
MOSCOW, October 29. /TASS/. The United States’ and the European Union’s anti-Russian sanctions hamper Vietnam’s participation in joint energy projects, Vietnamese Deputy Prime Minister Trinh Dinh Dung said on Monday.
"We would like to note that the sanctions imposed on Russia by the United States and Western countries pose big difficulties for us hampering the implementation of energy projects," he said at a meeting of the intergovernmental commission.
According to the Vietnamese deputy prime minister, his country is interested in increased presence of Russian companies in the oil and gas prospecting sector while Russian investors are interested in cooperation in the electricity generation sector.
"I understand that Russian investors are interested in the entire cycle, beginning from gas production to electricity generation, but electricity can be generated from liquefied gas," he added.
