Investments in Arkhangelsk logistics center estimated at 5-6 billion rubles, says governor
Igor Orlov said the complex will use also the existing infrastructures
ST. PETERSBURG, October 25. /TASS/. Investments in the Russian Defense Ministry’s Arkhangelsk industrial and logistics complex are estimated at 5-6 billion rubles ($76,000-91,000), the Arkhangelsk Region’s Governor Igor Orlov told TASS on Tuesday on sidelines of a regional forum.
The Arkhangelsk industrial and logistics complex will be used jointly by the defense authority and civil companies. The project’s key objective is to centralize and assure reliable supplies to northern territories, including for winter seasons, and to the Defense Ministry’s facilities. The complex is due to begin working in 2020.
"We are speaking about billions in investments," the governor told the All-Russian Forum - Strategic Planning in Russia’s Regions and Cities: Stakeholders of Future. "The investments are estimated at 5-6 billion [rubles]."
"Last week, the Defense Ministry had a big meeting, where participants verified the action plans regarding construction terms and participants in the industrial and logistics complex in Arkhangelsk," the governor said. "The number of participants has increased, the complex will use also the existing infrastructures; this is all I can say."
"The concession project’s operator has changed," he added.
The forum Strategic Planning in Russia’s Regions and Cities: Stakeholders of Future featured Minister of Economic Development Maxim Oreshkin and the Audit Chamber’s Chairman Alexei Kudrin.
