Ships parade on the Yenisei to mark Day of River Fleet
The show also featured the Alexander Matrosov passenger vessel and five cargo vessels
KRASNOYARSK, June 29. /TASS/. Krasnoyarsk hosted on the Yenisei River a parade of ships, which was devoted to celebration of the Day of River Fleet, the Yenisei Shipping Company told TASS.
"The Alexander Matrosov passenger vessel opened the festive parade," the company’s representative said. "The show also featured the Yenisei Shipping Company’s five cargo vessels."
Director of Nornickel’s Krasnoyarsk Transport Branch Oleg Shpagin welcomed the river fleet’s veterans and professionals.
"We have been working together for many decades, and, I hope, this cooperation will continue," the Shipping Company’s press service quoted him as saying. "Thank you for the great work, which is very important both for the factory and for the people living in the Krasnoyarsk Region."
As the cargo vessels completed the parade mission, they headed for river ports to take cargo and deliver it to different destinations, including to the Far North, the Yenisei Shipping Company said.
The Yenisei Shipping Company is the biggest water transport company, using water routes of the Yenisei basin. The company has the region’s biggest fleet of 460 dry-cargo and tanker vessels. The company’s main shareholder is Nornickel.
