TASS, May 4. The Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Region will present venison products, made under the Muslim Halal standards, at an annual Halal show in Kazan during the 10th economic summit Russia - Islamic World, the region’s Foreign Relations Department told TASS.
"For the first time, the Russia Halal Expo will present agricultural products from the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Region," the department said. "We shall expose products, made under the Halal standards - venison, fish, as well as beverages, jams and sweets made of wild plants and berries."
Besides, during the economic summit, the region will negotiate Halal products’ supplies to Kazakhstan.
According to the Yamalo-Nenets Governor Dmitry Kobylkin, the region’s two companies have Halal certificates. In 2018, one of the companies has sent the first consignment of five tonnes of meat to Tatarstan. Earlier, the governor told TASS about the region’s plans to supply products to the UAE.
Yamal has the world’s biggest reindeer farms - more than 760,000 animals. It is the only Russian region, which is licensed to export venison to the EU countries.
The Russia Halal Expo is Russia’s biggest annual international show of Halal products. Kazan will host the show on May 10-11. Organizers expect more than 3,000 guests. Exhibitors will represent Russia, Turkey, Malaysia, the UAE, Iran, Egypt, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan and Belarus.
