Moscow court receives Telegram’s appeal against telecom watchdog’s blocking order

The Tagansky court on April 13 sustained the telecom watchdog’s request for blocking access to the messenger service Telegram in Russia
MOSCOW, April 26. /TASS/. Moscow’s court has received an appeal from the lawyers representing the messenger Telegram against the order to block the resource, as follows from information published on the official website of Moscow’s courts.
The appeal against the Tagansky court’s ruling was filed on Wednesday. The Moscow city court has not set a date for considering it yet.
The Tagansky court on April 13 sustained the telecom watchdog’s request for blocking access to the messenger service Telegram in Russia for its refusal to share with the federal security service FSB the encryption codes crucial to reading suspicious users’ messages. Telecom operators started blocking Telegram on April 16.
