Russian military police will be deployed to the Syrian city of Douma on April 12

MOSCOW, April 11. /TASS/. Russian military police will be deployed to the Syrian city of Douma on April 12 to ensure security, maintain law and order, First Deputy Chief of the Russian General Staff’s Main Operations Directorate, Lieutenant-General Viktor Poznikhir, told reporters on Wednesday.

"As of tomorrow, Russian military police units will be deployed to the city of Douma to ensure security, maintain law and order and arrange assistance to the local population," he said.

Eastern Ghouta residents are currently provided with the necessary humanitarian assistance, both from the UN and the Russian Center for Reconciliation of the Warring Parties. As part of this task, Russian military servicemen have ensured the passage of three UN convoys, which delivered there 445 tonnes of foodstuffs, medicines and basic necessities. Meanwhile, Russian military servicemen delivered 518 tonnes of food, field kitchens, more than 9,000 liters of bottled water, along with 8,457 bed sheets and over 114,000 food packages.
