Russian strategic bombers pay visit to Indonesia

Two Tu-95MS strategic bombers and two Il-76MD aircraft flew from an airfield in the Amur Region to the Biak airfield in the Republic of Indonesia

MOSCOW, December 5. /TASS/. Two Tupolev Tu-95MS strategic bombers and two Ilyushin Il-76MD aircraft of Russia’s Aerospace Forces have paid an international visit to Indonesia, the Russian Defense Ministry said.

"Two Tu-95MS strategic bombers and two Il-76MD aircraft of the Russian Aerospace Forces flew from an airfield in the Amur Region to the Biak airfield in the Republic of Indonesia as part of an international visit," the ministry said.

During the flight, the aerial refuelling of Tu-95MS aircraft was performed with the help of Il-78 air-to-air refuelling tanker aircraft over the waters of the Pacific Ocean.

The flight was carried out in strict compliance with international rules of using the airspace, and no other states’ borders were violated, the ministry stressed.
