Russia to deliver A-50 early warning and control aircraft to India

BANGALORE (India), February 14. /TASS/. Russia has signed a contract on delivering A-50EI airborne early warning and control (AEW&C) aircraft to India, Head of Russia’s United Aircraft-Building Corporation Yuri Slyusar said on Tuesday.
"So far, we have a contract with India for the AEW&C," the chief executive said at the Aero India 2017 aerospace show in Bangalore, without specifying the number of planes stipulated in the contract.
Russia is holding talks with Algeria and Kazakhstan on the delivery of new modifications of Il-76 military transport planes to these countries, Slyusar said.
India currently operates three Russian-made A-50EI aircraft with Israeli radars aboard. The contract for their delivery was signed in 2004 and India expressed the desire after the contract’s fulfillment to acquire several more such planes. According to media reports, Russia, India and Israel signed a contract in late 2016 on the delivery of another two planes of this class.
