Operation in Syria foments interest in Middle East towards Russian air defense systems

A number of countries in the Middle East have displayed interest in Russian weaponry, the chief delegate of Russia’s Rostec corporation said at the Aero India 2017 show
BANGALORE, India, February 14. /TASS/. Russian air defense systems and attack helicopters have drawn great interest from potential customers in the Middle East after the operation in Syria, the chief delegate of Russia’s Rostec corporation, Viktor Kladov, said at the Aero India 2017 show on Tuesday.
"The military operation in Syria has brought about a tremendous upsurge in interest around the world towards Russian defense industry products, in particular, air defense systems and the latest models of aircraft, such as attack and transport helicopters," he said.
Kladov said that a number of countries in the Middle East displayed interest in Russian weaponry.
