Moscow and Baku set to expand military cooperation
"We will continue to expand everything that is related to military cooperation," Russian Defense Minister General Sergey Shoigu said
MOSCOW, November 30 /TASS/. The defense agencies of Russia and Azerbaijan will expand cooperation in many spheres, including training Azeri military at Russian military educational establishments, Russian Defense Minister General Sergey Shoigu said at a meeting with Azerbaijan’s Defense Minister Colonel General Zakir Gasanov.
"Our 2016 contacts have been going according to plans. Sometimes, we made additions and adjustments to our initial plans - I mean our joint struggle against international terrorism. The fast-changing global situation in combatting international terrorism certainly plays a special role," the Russian defense minister said.
According to him, both countries have always fulfilled their military cooperation plans.
"Both of us have drafted a plan for 2018. We will continue to expand everything that is related to military cooperation: staff negotiations, contacts at the level of commanders-in-chief and certainly education. We are going to expand mutual collaboration in the existing areas and put forward some additional proposals," the Russian defense minister stressed.
