Russian Armed Forces to get 6th Varshavyanka sub, missile systems Buk-M2, Buk-M3
In the third quarter of this year the military received four planes and 13 helicopters, 21 radars, and coastal missile systems Bal and Bastion.
MOSCOW, October 21. /TASS/. The Russian armed forces will get a sixth submarine of project 636.3 Varshavyanka and six air defense missile and artillery systems Pantsir-S, Defense Minister Sergey Shoigu has said.
"There are plans for providing for the air defense of the ground forces and for Aerospace Force two air defense missile systems Buk-M2 and Buk-M3 and six air defense missile and artillery system Pantsir-S, which have already undergone acceptance tests," Shoigu said.
The submarine The Veliki Novgorod (of the Varshavyanka family) will enter duty in November.
"I would like to point out that most modern types of military hardware being provided for the armed forces were on display at the international arms show Army-2016 in September," he added.
Russian defense industry performance satisfactory
According to Shoigu, the annual target for the delivery of weapons and other military hardware to the Russian Armed Forces was met 62% as at the end of the third quarter of 2016.
"By and large the state defense contract for the delivery of armaments and military hardware has been fulfilled 62% and for repairs, nearly 50%. This is a sign of satisfactory performance by the defense-industrial complex and the effectiveness of measures being taken by the Defense Ministry," Shoigu said.
In the third quarter of this year the military received four planes and 13 helicopters, 21 radars, and coastal missile systems Bal and Bastion. Another 13 planes have undergone repairs. Armored vehicles, trucks, engineering and aviation equipment and ammunition were provided on time.
In the middle of last July Shoigu said that the delivery of the main types of military equipment was at 40% of the annual target.
