Over 20,000 troops on alert in Russia's Siberia for combat readiness checks
The checks, involving motorized infantry, tank and artillery units, divisions of S-300 and S-400 air defense systems, will last for five days
YEKATERINBURG, October 18. /TASS/. Formations and military units in Russia’s Central Military District deployed in Western and Southern Siberia have been placed on alert for this year’s control checks, Colonel Yaroslav Roschupkin, assistant to the commander, told TASS.
During the control checks, more than 20,000 troops will practice all types of combat actions from maneuvers to defense and offensive. The troops "have marched to the firing grounds where they have started complex fire tactical training," Roschupkin said.
The checks involve motorized infantry, tank and artillery units, crews of Tolmachevo airbase, divisions of S-300 and S-400 air defense systems, task forces and specialists of all kinds of support.
The checks controlled by the forces’ commander Colonel General Vladimir Zarudnitsky will last for five days.
