Russia to spend $15 bln on national defense in 2017 — draft budget

Some $12.7 billion of that is planned to be spent on the Russian Armed Forces
MOSCOW, October 13. /TASS/. The Russian government is set to spend 948.59 billion rubles (about $15 billion) on national defense in 2017, according to the draft federal budget posted on the federal web portal of draft regulatory acts on Wednesday.
Specifically, the addendum to the draft federal law for 2017 and for the planned period of 2018 and 2019 stipulates that 793.79 billion rubles ($12.7 billion) out of this sum is planned to be spent on the Russian Armed Forces.
As much as 7.64 billion rubles ($122 million) is planned to be spent on the presidential program in 2017 on the destruction of chemical weapons stocks.
