TULA, October 7. /TASS/. Three combat vehicles of the Pantsir-S1 antiaircraft gun/missile systems are on combat duty on the New Siberian Islands in the Arctic, the CEO of Shcheglovsky Val Company, part of High Precision Systems Group, said on Friday.

"Our three vehicles are stationed on the New Siberian Islands. The conditions are very difficult, and the work organized in the north of Russia is reliably protected," Vladimir Popov said.

The Pantsir-S1 antiaircraft gun/missile complexes were deployed in the Russian Arctic in 2014.

As was reported earlier, the Russian Armed Forces will receive the system’s special version for the Arctic application - Pantsir-SA - by the end of 2016.
