Air defense systems S-400 hit high-speed targets in Russia's Buryatia
Six missiles were launched to destroy hard-to-hit high-speed missile targets at an altitude of 45 kilometers
YEKATERINBURG, September 27. /TASS/. An air defense regiment of the Central Military District, armed with the S-400 Triumph systems a year ago, has hit high-speed targets in its first exercise in Buryatia, an aide to the Central Military District’s commander, Yaroslav Roshchupkin, has said.
"The crews excellently coped with combat launches, made in a joint exercise with the 14th Air Force and Air Defense Army at the Telemba proving ground in Buryatia," Roshchupkin said. "Six missiles were launched to destroy hard-to-hit high-speed missile targets Kaban travelling along a flat path at a speed of 1,200 meters per second at an altitude of 45 kilometers."
Earlier, the S-400 battalions stationed in the Novosibirsk Region, were moved to the area of the exercise more than 3,000 away. Some 300 personnel and about 80 pieces of military equipment took part.
