Putin wants King of Bahrain to learn more about Russian-made weapons
The Russian leader said he hopes the Bahraini king had an opportunity to learn more about Russian-made weapons
MOSCOW, September 6. /TASS/. Russian President Vladimir Putin and visiting King of Bahrain Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa on Tuesday discussed possibilities for military technical cooperation between the two countries.
The Russian leader said he hopes the Bahraini king had a possibility to learn more about Russian-made weapons. "You said you wanted to learn about possibilities of our defense sector. I hope you had a chance to see what we can offer our friends and partners. I would like to hear your opinion about what you have seen today," Putin said opening talks.
Earlier in the day, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Rogozin within the framework of the Army 2016 Forum demonstrated to the King of Bahrain samples of armored vehicles and tanks.
During a brief excursion, the king was able to see, in particular, the Phlox 120-millimeter self-propelled truck-mounted gun, a 152-mm self-propelled howitzer and a tank fire support armored fighting vehicle.
King Khalifa told Putin he was glad to visit the Army-2016 exhibition. "Indeed, we wanted to learn more about your products and build our relations with due account of that. What we agreed earlier is being realized now," he said, adding that his country is interested in expanding cooperation with Russia.
