Over 10 Caspian Flotilla vessels go on duty for snap check
The surprise combat readiness check is held in the Armed Forces on August 25-31
MOSCOW, August 25. /TASS/. More than 10 vessels and ships of the Caspian Flotilla, including three fast attack craft equipped with the Kalibr system have entered combat duty during a snap combat readiness check, the Southern Military District’s press service told journalists.
"Some 10 ships and vessels of the flotilla, including fast attack craft The Grad Sviyazhsk, Veliky Ustyug, Uglich, artillery gunboats, harbor minesweepers, as well as search and rescue support ships entered combat duty," the statement obtained by TASS said.
The surprise combat readiness check is held in the Armed Forces on August 25-31. It comprises Southern Military District forces, some forces of the Central and Western districts, as well as the Northern Fleet, the Aerospace Forces and the Airborne Troops. The check is held as part of preparation for the Kavkaz-2016 strategic drills to be held in September.
