Russia, China agree plans of Joint Sea-2016 international drills
The Russian-Chinese naval exercise Joint Sea-2016 will be held in China from September 12 to 19
VLADIVOSTOK, August 22. /TASS/. The final conference on the preparation for the Russian-Chinese naval exercise Joint Sea-2016, which will be held in China from September 12 to 19, has been held in the city of Zhanjiang (China).
The sides agreed on the plans of the maneuvers and cultural activities, spokesman for the Russian Pacific Fleet Captain 2nd Rank Vladimir Matveyev told TASS on Monday.
"During the final planning conference, the parties held a field inspection of the exercise area, agreed on the plans for the drills, signed the sports and cultural activities plans", Matveyev said.
According to him, during the exercise the forces of the Russian Pacific Fleet and the Navy of the People’s Liberation Army of China will drill organizing defense of ships at sea and joint assault force landing in the South China Sea.
