MOSCOW, June 21. /TASS/. A joint combat squad of the Sary Shagan missile testing ground, air defense and antimissile missile defense branches of the Russian Aerospace Force, and defense industry experts held a successful test launch of an organic short-range interceptor missile, the information department of the Russian Defense Ministry said on Tuesday.
The test launch took place at 07:00 hours Moscow Standard Time (05:00 hours UTC).
"The purpose of the launch was to trial-test the combat characteristics of the antimissile missiles the Russian Aerospace Force has on its tables of organization," the report said.
