Russia's state program for armaments till 2025 not agreed yet — minister
The current program for 2011-2020 stands at about $300 billion
ST. PETERSBURG, June 16. /TASS/. Russia’s state program for armaments for 2018-2025 has not been agreed yet, Industry and Trade Minister Denis Manturov said at the ongoing St. Petersburg Economic Forum on Thursday.
"Not, of course. The state program is to be adopted on the eve," he replied to a question from TASS.
"We stay strictly within the formats of the Defense Ministry’s ideas," Manturov said.
The Industry and Trade Ministry will "tune up" the state programs for developing the defense-industrial complex "for the implementation of the tasks the Defense Ministry will reserve for us," he said.
The Defense Ministry declared it was working on a state program for armaments till 2025 back at the end of 2015. Before that Defense Minister Sergey Shoigu said the program’s value was estimated at 30 trillion rubles ($454 billion). The current program for 2011-2020 stands at about 20 trillion ($300 billion).
