Russian Eastern Military District drills involve more than 25,000 troops
About 7,000 armament and military hardware units are involved as well
MOSCOW, April 25. /TASS/. More than 25,000 troops are involved in drills within the framework of a control check for the winter training period in Russia’s Eastern Military District, the district’s spokesman Alexander Gordeyev said on Monday.
"More than 25,000 soldiers and about 7,000 armament and military hardware units are involved in major tactical exercises involving combined arms army groupings of the Eastern Military District and coastal forces of the Pacific Fleet," Gordeyev said.
According to him, the exercises are underway at 12 ranges in eight regions of the Russian Far East and Trans-Baikal Territory.
"The largest-scale two-side maneuvers have started at the Klerk and Sergeyevsky ranges in Russia’s Primorsky Territory and at Tsugol range in the Trans-Baikal Territory," Gordeyev said.
The maneuvers were launched on April 19-20 and will end by the middle of this week, the military district spokesman said.
