CSTO concerned by US, Israeli statements on possible strikes against Iran — CSTO chief
Taalatbek Masadykov recalled that there were open threats to use a super-powerful non-nuclear aerial bomb against Iran’s nuclear infrastructure
MINSK, November 3. /TASS/. Threats by the United States and Israel to strike Iran’s nuclear facilities are causing concern within the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO), said its Secretary General Taalatbek Masadykov.
"The dangerous consequences of military action by the United States and Israel against Iran are particularly alarming. There are open threats to use a super-powerful non-nuclear aerial bomb against Iran’s nuclear infrastructure, including facilities under IAEA safeguards," he said at the high-level plenary session of the 4th International Conference on Eurasian Security in Minsk.
"Meanwhile, the Iranian parliament is drafting a bill on the country’s possible withdrawal from the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons. Naturally, such developments in the immediate vicinity of the CSTO’s area of responsibility cannot but cause deep concern," Masadykov added.
