MOSCOW, October 22. /TASS/. Production of components for the Dobrynya Nikitich cargo unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV), used in Russia’s special military operation in Ukraine, is planned to be fully localized, a spokesman for the Svarog Research and Production Center told TASS.

"Work is currently underway to modernize the 15-inch Dobrynya Nikitich cargo drone. Our goal is to fully localize the drone production. So far, we have managed to make the drone almost entirely Russian-made: the Dobrynya Nikitich is equipped with a domestic frame, motors, propellers, a flight controller, and a speed governor. We are currently collaborating with partners, Russian manufacturing plants, to switch the digital communication system to domestic components," the company said.

The Svarog Center specified that the new version of Dobrynya Nikitich is also equipped with a remote control featuring a large screen, as requested by operators. "We are constantly working with units carrying out missions in the special military operation zone and receiving feedback on how to improve our products. We were tasked with simplifying the drone’s operation as much as possible. The current update allows users to plan missions using a controller with a large screen without needing a computer. Our software is intuitive, lets users plan routes and waypoints directly from the controller, and requires no special training," the company added.

The Dobrynya Nikitich drone is used to deliver cargo weighing up to 10 kg over distances of up to 12 km.
