Russia tests Dronoscope 6 portable EW device for intercepting enemy drone video feeds
The developer plans to begin manufacturing the first batch of updated device in November
MOSCOW, October 21. /TASS/. The Dronoscope Design Bureau (a resident of the Center for Unmanned Systems and Technologies, or CUST) has finished developing the new Dronoscope 6 portable electronic warfare device intended to intercept and display live FPV video feeds from incoming enemy drones, the CUST told TASS.
"A major achievement by the developers is the device’s expanded continuous frequency range, from 800 MHz to 12+ GHz. In November, the company plans to begin manufacturing the first batch of Dronoscope 6 video interceptors. The product is currently being tested," the company said.
The CUST noted that the previous version of the device, the Dronoscope 5.3.3, was released last summer. "It has a new low-noise amplifier (LNA) and offers an option for remote control via RS485 and Wi-Fi. The Dronoscope is used for passive radio-wave monitoring and intercepting the video signal transmitted from an FPV drone’s camera to the operator’s control panel," the company added.
The Center noted that the latest version of the device enables the prompt detection of UAV flights and the selection of appropriate countermeasures.
