Kalashnikov delivers batch of AK-103 assault rifles to foreign customer
The assault rifle has remained the most widely exported small arms product over the past five years
MOSCOW, October 9. /TASS/. Russia’s Kalashnikov arms manufacturer has supplied a batch of AK-103 assault rifles under an export contract, the company’s press office told TASS.
"The Kalashnikov Group has completed delivery of 7.62mm Kalashnikov AK-103 assault rifles under 2026 export contracts signed on the Russian side by Rosoboronexport JSC. It should be noted that over the past five years, the AK-103 has remained the most widely exported small arms product," the statement said.
The 7.62mm Kalashnikov AK-103 assault rifle was developed from the Russian Army’s standard-issue 5.45mm AK-74M assault rifle to replace the modernized Kalashnikov assault rifle (AKM) chambered for the 7.62x39mm cartridge. The assault rifle is used by the Russian Armed Forces and the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
The first export delivery of the AK-103 assault rifle was made in 1997.
