Igor Potapov added that this will deprive enemy attack unmanned aerial vehicles of satellite communications

MOSCOW, October 8. /TASS/. Russia’s newest electronic warfare (EW) system, the Yastreb-S, is being modernized to jam Starlink satellite communications used by Ukrainian drones, Igor Potapov, an official representative of its developer, NPP Design Bureau, told TASS.

"The Yastreb system itself is currently undergoing testing. The Yastreb-S version requires modernization to shift frequencies to the operating bands of Starlink systems for maximum suppression of all possible threats. The frequency shifter has already been made, and all that remains is to integrate it and begin testing," he said, calling the system the "Starlink killer."

He added that this will deprive enemy attack unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) of satellite communications.

Potapov said earlier that the Yastreb 1.0 system is undergoing final testing, and Russian troops will begin using it in November. According to the expert, the Yastreb 1.0 has no analogues in its class. The system covers a wide frequency band from 100 to 6,000 MHz. The system’s electronic intelligence capabilities include video interception with image transmission to the operator’s network.
