YUZHNO-SAKHALINSK, August 12. /TASS/. Russian President and Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Russian Armed Forces Vladimir Putin arrived aboard the Guards missile cruiser Varyag, the flagship of the Pacific Fleet.

Pacific Fleet Commander Admiral Viktor Liina reported to the president on the fleet’s ongoing drills.

Earlier, the head of state arrived on Sakhalin Island as part of his working trip to the Buryatia Region and the city of Novosibisk.
