DUSHANBE, August 6. /TASS/. Soldiers from the grenade launcher crews of the Russian 201st Guards Military Base, stationed in Tajikistan, destroyed a simulated enemy’s lightly armored vehicles at the Lyaur mountain training range, the press service of the Central Military District (CMD) reported.

"During the combat training exercise, grenade launcher operators practiced tactical maneuvers to storm a simulated enemy stronghold, applying army tactical firing skills with AK-74M and AK-12 Kalashnikov assault rifles, securing their positions, and subsequently engaging targets simulating lightly armored vehicles with RPG-7V portable anti-tank grenade launchers," the statement said.

It is noted that the soldiers fired at ranges from 200 to 500 meters from kneeling and standing positions. During the exercise, particular attention was paid to the coordination of the crews’ actions during reloading and shifting fire, as well as timely corrections from the observation post.

"At the conclusion of the exercise, the grenade launcher crews honed tactical medical skills, including applying tourniquets and bandages, as well as evacuating simulated casualties to a safe area. A total of about 60 service members participated in the exercise," the Central Military District’s press service added.

The 201st Russian military base stationed in Tajikistan is Russia’s largest military facility outside its borders. Located in two cities, Dushanbe and Bokhtar, it includes motorized rifle, tank, artillery, reconnaissance, air defense, NBC defense troops and communications units.
