Post-Soviet security bloc to hold four command and staff drills in 2027
The exercises will be held on the territory of Russia, Belarus, Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan
MOSCOW, May 26. /TASS/. The Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) will hold four command and staff and rescue drills on the territory of Russia, Belarus, Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan in 2027 to develop military cooperation, CSTO Secretary General Taalatbek Masadykov said at a meeting of the organization’s Committee of Security Council Secretaries.
The post-Soviet security bloc has drafted a plan of jointly training the CSTO governance bodies and forming forces and capabilities of the bloc’s collective security system for 2027 "in fulfilment of decisions by the Council of CSTO Defense Ministers and the Committee of CSTO Security Council Secretaries," the bloc’s chief said.
"The 2027 plan envisages conducting the Interaction command and staff and rescue drills on the territory of the Republic of Tajikistan, the Indestructible Brotherhood drills on the territory of the Kyrgyz Republic, the Frontier 2027 exercise on the territory of Russia and the Cobalt 2027 exercise on the territory of the Republic of Belarus," the organization’s chief said.
The plan also envisages "holding a joint business game of the Joint Staff Secretariat and an operational group of CSTO member states to practice response to a crisis situation in the area of the organization’s responsibility," he specified.
