Mideast conflict to heighten interest in Russia’s Orlan UAVs abroad — STC
The supply of Orlan drones to foreign countries is under the jurisdiction of Rosoboronexport
KUALA LUMPUR /Malaysia/, April 21 /TASS/. The conflict in the Middle East is heightening the interest in Russia’s Orlan-series unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) among potential foreign customers, a spokesperson for the manufacturer, Special Technology Center (STC), told TASS at the Defense Services Asia (DSA) international exhibition of arms and military equipment in Malaysia.
"The supply of Orlan drones to foreign countries is under the jurisdiction of Rosoboronexport. We are ready to supply the aircraft wherever such an agreement is reached. The conflict in the Middle East and the heightened energy efficiency trend will undoubtedly increase the potential foreign customers’ interest in Russian Orlan drones. We see that interest is growing. We have modern, highly sophisticated technology," he said.
STC products are being presented as part of the joint Russian exhibit of the arms exporter Rosoboronexport (part of the state tech corporation Rostec). The event is also featuring the advanced Orlan-10 unmanned reconnaissance system.
The DSA exhibition is being held from April 20-23 in Kuala Lumpur.
