Russian Navy ships conduct joint maneuvers with Indonesian corvettes

MOSCOW, April 2. /TASS/. A detachment of Russian Pacific Fleet ships has practiced communication and joint maneuvers with Indonesian corvettes after leaving the port of Jakarta, the fleet's press service reported.
The Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky diesel-electric submarine, the corvette Gromky, and the Andrey Stepanov seagoing tug completed their scheduled port call in Jakarta and departed for the Java Sea. "After leaving port, the Russian ships conducted communications and joint maneuvering exercises with the Indonesian corvettes KRI Lambung Mangkurat and KRI Tjiptadi. The main objective of the exercises was to enhance the level of interaction and compatibility between Russian and Indonesian Navy ships during missions at sea," the statement reads.
The navy noted that during the business call, the Russian sailors held protocol events and conferences to exchange experience with Indonesian Navy personnel, as well as participated in familiarization tours of the city and visited local attractions. The ships’ crews also held a number of sports events with Indonesian sailors.
On March 29, the Pacific Fleet press service reported the arrival of a detachment of ships consisting of the diesel-electric submarine Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, the corvette Gromky, and the seagoing tug Andrey Stepanov at the port of Jakarta for a business call. The Pacific Fleet ships detachment departed from Vladivostok in early March, 2026, to carry out missions in the Asia-Pacific region.
