The drone is capable of delivering a 3-kilogram warhead

MOSCOW, April 2. /TASS/. The creators of the Knyaz Vandal of Novgorod (KVN) fiber-optic FPV drone have developed the unmanned aerial vehicle’s long-range modification, the KVN-35, capable of delivering a 3 kg warhead at a distance of up to 35 km, the general designer of the drone's engineering team told TASS.

"Among the team’s new developments is the KVN-35. This is a larger device — due to its increased dimensions, it has both a greater payload capacity and an increased range. It is capable of delivering a 3-kilogram warhead at a distance of up to 35 kilometers. If the drone is fitted with a 23-kilometer coil, the payload can be increased to 5 kilograms. Our plan is to make the Vandal more flexible and give operators a choice: they can fly further or strike harder — depending on the immediate task," the specialist stated.

The Knyaz Vandal of Novgorod drone engineering team is a resident of the Ushkuynik Research and Production Center (Veliky Novgorod). The fiber-optic drone was first deployed in August 2024, after the Ukrainian armed forces launched an incursion into Russia’s Kursk Region. The drone can resist electronic warfare and perform various missions.
