Putin visits Kursk Region for the first time since Ukrainian army’s incursion
Russia’s borderline Kursk Region came under a massive attack from Ukraine on August 6, 2024
MOSCOW, March 12. /TASS/. Russian President Vladimir Putin has visited the command point of the Kursk grouping of forces wearing a uniform and listened to a report by Chief of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces Army General Valery Gerasimov.
This is the first time the head of state has visited the Kursk Region since the Ukrainian forces’ incursion.
Russia’s borderline Kursk Region came under a massive attack from Ukraine on August 6, 2024. The Russian Armed Forces continue their operation to wipe out Ukrainian troops; five settlements were liberated in the past 24 hours. In particular, Russian forces took control of the central part of the town of Sudzha.
According to the Russian Defense Ministry, Kiev has lost more than 66,810 troops, 392 tanks, 314 infantry fighting vehicles, 275 armored personnel carriers, 2,191 armored combat vehicles, 545 artillery pieces, and 52 rocket launchers, including 13 US-made HIMARS systems and seven MLRS systems, since fighting began in the Kursk area.
