MINSK, March 6. /TASS/. Russia proposes to build a plant in Belarus to produce unmanned aerial systems with a capacity of up to 100,000 units per year, Deputy Chief of Staff of the Russian Presidential Executive Office Maxim Oreshkin told reporters.
"The basic proposal is to build a plant within a year that can produce up to 100,000 units [drones] annually. This is the proposal made by the Russian side. Now we will discuss and agree on the parameters with our colleagues," Oreshkin said as quoted by the SB. Belarus Segodnya publication.
The official believes it is important that "Belarus has its own manufacturing facilities that would make the country's economy and security sector truly independent."
"It implies the use of technological advancements and solutions that exist in Russia. And the use of a single technological platform will ensure cost efficiency," Oreshkin said.
