Putin points to increasing number of cyberattacks, including on government agencies

MOSCOW, February 27. /TASS/. The development of digital technology has led to a rise in cyberattacks on Russia’s information infrastructure, President Vladimir Putin stated.

"I would also like to point out that with the development of digital technologies, the number of cyberattacks on the domestic information infrastructure is growing, particularly on official government websites, the resources and services of state corporations and agencies," he said, addressing a board meeting of the Federal Security Service (FSB).

According to the president, such crimes "are systemic, multidimensional and multifaceted" as they cause damage to the government, businesses and common people. "One of your agency’s goals is to enhance the security of the domestic information infrastructure and search for new methods to eliminate cyberthreats," Putin added, addressing FSB officers.
