MOSCOW, February 27. /TASS/. Russia’s Federal Security Service (FSB) is a strong, reliable and effective component of national security, President Vladimir Putin stated during a meeting of the FSB board.

"The concrete results of your activities demonstrate that the FSB is a strong, reliable, and effective link in the system of national security. Your specialized units have acted promptly and competently, defending the sovereignty and national interests of Russia, as well as the rights of our citizens. They have reliably protected the constitutional order, fought against terrorism and extremism, tackled crime, and conducted complex counterintelligence operations," Putin said.

He added that this year the FSB coped with all of its tasks "at a high level by and large."
