MINSK, February 13. /TASS/. The Belarus-Russia joint exercise Zapad-2025 is a planned event that poses no threat to any other states, according to Alexander Volfovich, the State Secretary of the Security Council of Belarus.

"The accusations from the collective West - that we pose a threat - are completely unfounded. Recently, Western leaders have claimed that we are plotting aggression and that we represent a threat from the East. They express concern over the Belarusian-Russian exercise scheduled for 2025, but there is nothing extraordinary about it," he stated, as reported by the Belarusian Defense Ministry's press service on its Telegram channel.

Volfovich noted that these exercises have been held regularly since 2009, occurring every two years in alternating locations in Belarus and Russia.

"The joint exercises planned for this year are intended for routine practice and to assess the readiness of regional troop groups to defend the territory of the Union State," he added.
