DONETSK, December 15. /TASS/. Dozens of Ukrainian soldiers have been encircled in Kurakhovo in the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR), military officials told TASS.

"At least two hundred [enemy] troops have been trapped at the Kurakhovo thermal power plant alone. And there are hotbeds inside the town, too," the officials said.

According to them, the Ukrainian battlegroup is being "ground down" gradually so that it cannot flee the town.

Earlier, Vladimir Rogov, chairman of the Russian Civic Chamber’s commission on sovereignty, patriotic projects, and veteran support, told TASS that about 700 Ukrainian soldiers, including from a special forces unit, who have been repeatedly denied permission to retreat, have been trapped near Annovka, south of Kurakhovo. The remaining Ukrainian troops in Kurakhovo itself can find themselves trapped, and very soon, too, he warned.
