Ukraine sustains almost 65,000 casualties from Russia’s Battlegroup North since May

MOSCOW, November 25. /TASS/. Since May 2024, Ukraine has sustained around 65,000 casualties from Russia’s Battlegroup North, TASS calculations show.

Earlier, Russian Defense Minister Andrey Belousov said while visiting the battlegroup’s command post that "the best units of the Ukrainian military have been ground to dust," with Kiev’s plans for 2025 being disrupted.

According to reports from the Russian Defense Ministry, since May 2024, when units from the Battlegroup North launched an operation in the Kharkov Region, they have inflicted 64,700 casualties on Kiev. Also, after Russian forces started to repel the Ukrainian incursion into the Kursk Region, Ukraine has suffered at least 2,000 troops per week in the area of responsibility of this battlegroup.

Also, since mid-May, the Ukrainians have sustained at least 2,500 casualties per week from the Battlegroup West which has been active in areas adjacent to the area of the Battlegroup North’s responsibility, namely in the Kupyansk sector of the line of engagement, Russian Defense Ministry statistics say.
