Europe unable to wage war attrition on Russia — Ukraine’s ex-commander-in-chief
According to Zaluzhny, European countries lack munitions to shoot down air bombs
MOSCOW, November 23. /TASS/. European countries will not be able to support Kiev in its long confrontation with Russia and wage a war of attrition on it, Ukraine’s former Commander in Chief and now its Ambassador to the United Kingdom, Valery Zaluzhny, said.
"The number of aerial targets is growing while the number of air defense systems is limited and they are very expensive. Even in these terms, I don’t think that either Britain or other European countries will be ready. Although there are enough F-16 jets with excellent air defense capabilities, the air defense system can be completely emptied in two or three months," he said in an interview with the Ukrainskaya Pravda media outlet.
According to Zaluzhny, European countries lack munitions to shoot down air bombs. "Does any European country or the United Kingdom have at least 5,000 projectiles for Patriot systems to intercept guided air bombs? I doubt that. Because they are very expensive and, hence, there cannot be a lot of them, since it is quite problematic to manufacture them. So, it can probably be said that they (European countries - TASS) are not ready," he noted.
