MOSCOW, November 18. /TASS/. The US-led coalition’s aircraft violated Syria’s fourteen times during the past day, Oleg Ignasyuk, deputy chief of the Russian Center for Reconciliation of the Opposing Parties in Syria (a division of the Russian defense ministry), said.
"Aircraft of the so-called international anti-terrorist coalition led by the United States continue to create dangerous situations that may cause air accidents or incidents and escalate the situation in Syria’s airspace," he said. "A pair of the coalition’s F-15 fighter jets (five times) and a pair of A-10 Thunderbolt attack bombers violated Syria’s airspace in the al-Tanf area, across which international air routes run, fourteen times during the day."
Apart from that, three violations of the deconfliction protocols of December 9, 2019 linked with the flights by the US-led coalition unmanned aerial vehicles were reported, he added.
He also said that the Russian reconciliation center conducted one humanitarian operation in the settlement of Hadar in the al-Quneitra governorate and distributed 5.9 tons of food among its residents.
"Over the past day, as many as 3,990 people crossed Syria’s border from Lebanon via the checkpoints of Al-Arida, Al-Jawasiyeh, Al-Dabousiyah, Jisr Qamar, and Jdaidet Yabous," Ignasyuk reported.
According to Ignasyuk, as part of the implementation of the Russian-Turkish memorandum of understanding of October 22, 2019, Russian military police units carries out joint patrols in the Raqqa and al-Hassakah governorates.
He also noted that Syrian government troops foiled an attempted infiltration of Syrian army positions near Kafer Ruma in the Idlib governorate by a sabotage and reconnaissance group of illegal armed units. The terrorists were repelled and retreated, sustaining losses.
