Russia, Republic of the Congo sign memorandum of naval cooperation

It is reported that the sides exchanged views on current issues of Russian-Congolese military and defense cooperation, discussed promising joint projects in the defense sphere and outlined ways to implement them

MOSCOW, November 18. /TASS/. Russia and the Republic of the Congo have signed a memorandum of naval cooperation, the Russian defense ministry said after a meeting between Russian Deputy Defense Minister Alexander Fomin and National Defense Minister of the Republic of the Congo Charles Richard Mondjo.

"On November 18, 2024, a working meeting between Russian Deputy Defense Minister Colonel General Alexander Fomin and National Defense Minister of the Republic of the Congo Lieutenant General Charles [Richard] Mondjo was held in Moscow. The sides exchanged views on current issues of Russian-Congolese military and defense cooperation, discussed promising joint projects in the defense sphere and outlined ways to implement them. They also agreed to continue close cooperation in all areas of bilateral cooperation," the ministry said.

"The talks were held in a friendly atmosphere and were crowned by the signing of an inter-ministerial memorandum of understanding and cooperation in the naval sphere, having reiterated Moscow and Brazzaville’s commitment to the further expansion of practical cooperation.
