MOSCOW, November 8. /TASS/. The Project 12418 Stupinets fast attack guided missile vessel constructed at the Vympel Shipyard in Rybinsk is scheduled to be handed over to the Russian Navy in 2025, a source in the shipbuilding industry told TASS.

"The first of the two fast attack missile boats being constructed in Rybinsk is set to be delivered to the Russian Navy in 2025," he clarified.

TASS has not received an official confirmation of this information.

The source noted that the two ships were originally under construction in Rybinsk for a foreign customer. Following the cancellation of the purchase, the Russian Navy expressed interest in the boats. They were promptly reclassified from under construction to under repair in order to install the necessary weapons for the Russian Navy.

The main strike weapon of the Project 12418 fast attack missile boat is the Uran anti-ship missile system fitted with Kh-35 missiles. The new ship succeeded the name of the Project 1241, which operated in the Caspian Flotilla until 2023. Stupinets is expected to join the Caspian Flotilla.
