Russian intelligence chief, Egyptian president stress readiness for security cooperation

MOSCOW, April 16. /TASS/. The director of Russia’s Foreign Intelligence Service (SVR) Sergey Naryshkin and Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi at a meeting in Cairo emphasized their countries' readiness to further deepen cooperation in the field of national security, the SVR’s press bureau has said.
The two men exchanged views "on stabilizing the situation in the Middle East in the context of the crisis in the Gaza Strip, the fight against international terrorism, the situation in Ukraine and the African continent, and Afghan issues."
"The visit demonstrated the unanimity of approaches to the issues raised. The readiness to further deepen cooperation in the field of national security between Russia and Egypt was stressed," the statement reads.
