Igor Kalyayev emphasized that Russia already now needs to think about countermeasures that are likely to play a paramount role in the confrontation between the world's leading powers after the end of the drone era

MOSCOW, March 13. /TASS/. One of Russia’s top artificial intelligence researchers, Igor Kalyayev, who as early as 16 years ago prophetically foretold the advent of the drone era, now believes that humanity should give serious thought to what comes next after the era of the drone runs its course.

"These days, everyone has hurried to develop and create drones. At this stage, this is, of course, an absolutely right decision, because meeting the demand for such vehicles from our troops involved in the special military operation is an urgent need. But I am sure that, in the foreseeable future, effective means for fighting them will be created, which will cause this [drone] boom to dissipate," Kalyayev, a member of the Russian Academy of Sciences, told TASS in an interview.

The drone expert emphasized that Russia already now needs to think about those countermeasures that are likely to play a paramount role in the confrontation between the world's leading powers after the end of the drone era.
