About 200,000 dangerous cyberattacks targeted Russia last year — Security Council
"The level of organizing these attacks suggests that foreign intelligence services are complicit in their planning and implementation," the Security Council assistant secretary stressed
MOSCOW, March 5. /TASS/. The number of cyberattacks on Russian information resources has grown significantly since the start of the special military operation in Ukraine and foreign special services are clearly involved in this activity, Security Council Assistant Secretary Dmitry Gribkov said in an interview with the National Defense magazine on Tuesday.
"Since the beginning of the special military operation, the number of computer attacks on Russian information resources has grown considerably. In 2023 alone, about 200,000 most dangerous computer attacks were carried out. The level of organizing these attacks suggests that foreign intelligence services are complicit in their planning and implementation," he said.
A confirmation of this can be found, for example, in materials of the US National Security Agency (NSA), he said.
"In its annual review, the NSA mentions Russia as a threat to ‘regional security and global stability’ and highlights the Ukrainian track as a priority area of the agency’s activity," he pointed out.
