Ukrainian drone shot down over Leningrad Region
St. Petersburg Governor Alexander Beglov has contacted the command of the Leningrad Military District following the incident over the Gulf of Finland
MOSCOW, March 2. /TASS/. Russian air defenses have destroyed a Ukrainian drone over the Gulf of Finland in the Leningrad Region, the Defense Ministry reported.
"On March 2 at about 7:30 p.m. Moscow time (4:30 p.m. GMT), the Kiev regime’s attempt to carry out a terrorist attack using a fixed-wing unmanned aerial vehicle against facilities in the Russian Federation was thwarted. The air defense units on duty destroyed the Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicle over the Leningrad Region," the ministry said.
Earlier, Leningrad Region Governor Alexander Drozdenko said that air defenses operated over the Lomonosov district in the Leningrad Region to destroy several aerial targets. The nearby port of Bronka was not damaged. There are no casualties or destruction as a result of the incident, Drozdenko said. Pulkovo Airport suspended servicing arriving flights, but now is operating as usual.
